European Cybercrime Centre is although a name of a very reputed organization that watches over the cyber activities but this post discusses aspects of a ransomware that uses the name of ECC to tricks users and to earn money illegitimately by scaring them. It is very hard to remove or uninstall since it locks down the computer after getting inside and seizing all the resources within. A big message blocks the desktop screen after it infects that bears the logo of emblems of European Cybercrime Centre organization. This message states that you have violated Internet cyber laws by distributing illegal contents and hence shall have to pay a fine to unlock the PC completely.
The message asks the user to pay a fine through Ukash, MoneyPak or PaysafeCard. If the fine is not paid by the respected user, a criminal case will be initiated against the same and the PC will be blocked again. You shouldn't pay heed to such fake messages and should use a removal tool to get rid of it once and for all.
